Why Deciding What to Eat Takes Longer Than Actually Eating There is a daily question that feels surprisingly difficult — what to eat? It sounds simple, but somehow deciding what to eat takes longer than actually preparing and eating the food. The kitchen work might take 20 minutes, but the thinking process before that can easily take twice as long. The decision doesn’t end with food either. Once the food is ready, another question appears — what to watch while eating? That search can take another 30–40 minutes. By the time something is finally selected, it usually ends up being something that has already been watched before.
